Happy Birthday Rosemary...

Here is wishing Rosemary a Happy Birthday.

Sit and Fit

Virginia brought Eleanore over this morning for sit and fit. After, Lee and Lenore came out to see the rain. I found it a little ironic that they would only go as far as the candy dish. Lenore said she could see the rain just fine from there.

Sunday...

We have LDS church services here at 10:00am. Everyone is welcome. For those who are of another faith, arrangements can be made to see that everyone is taken care of.

Lunch and dinner are usually 1/2 an hour late on Sundays as well.

After dinner tonight, I asked Gaylia if she'd mind playing a few songs on the piano. She played while the rest of us sat and finished our ice cream.

Many family members stop in and visit. Here Dene and her brother visit at the table while Gaylia plays the piano.

Katelin was a little embarrassed when I took this picture of her singing.

Welcome Home at Night...

As night falls, we prepare for tomorrow.

Typical Saturday.... September 20, 2008

It was a typical Saturday here at Welcome Home.

BINGO at 10:00am. The other of the two things that I have learned working with assisted living is:

You can cancel church, but you can't cancel Bingo. If you do, you will hear about it for the next three weeks. They love their Bingo.

After dinner, Phyllis, Esther, and Lee were trying to decide if they wanted to watch Football the news or Lawrence Welk. I think that Phyllis and Esther decided to go back to their rooms and left Lee in charge of the remote.

Shirley went to her room to watch her favorite shows. That left me to do all the dishes on my own. Just between you and me, I don't think that Shirley likes Lawrence Welk.

On a side note:

Both BYU and UTAH won today. Lets hope that they are both undefeated going into their last game of the season. That should make for a pretty good game.

Lazy Friday Afternoon...

Bonnie stopped in on her way home from work to watch Dr. Phil with Carol. They always enjoy the company of family and friends. So feel free to stop in anytime and catch a game or your favorite show.

Fun Shopping...

Friday fun day of shopping we ended up at Walmart. Esther and Andrea went hunting for shoes and socks. We got socks but no luck on shoes.

Popcorn and a Movie....

The ladies all gathered in Building B to watch Pillow Talk. Doris Day - Rock Hudson. We started out with 13 ladies, but slowly the numbers dwindled down.

As Doris day put it, "Mr. Allen, this may come as a surprise to you, but there are some men who don't end every sentence with a proposition."

But HEY, the popcorn was good.

Thursday Morning....

We eat Breakfast at 8:00 am and then its the Price is Right from 9-10. As long as I have been working in Assisted Living, one of the two things I learned has been this:

Pray the power doesn't go out during the Price is Right.

For some reason everyone loves to watch the Price is Right. So many will gather around the TV to watch America's Favorite Game show.

* NOTE: Do not try to turn off the TV for Relief Society until the winner has been announced in the Show Case Show Down. Lenore really gets upset.

Relief Society is in Building A at 10:00am. They usually get a pretty good turn out. Gaylia loves to play the piano for them, and does a very good job.

Chat and Chew....

Today is National Play Dough Day. So ofcourse we had to play with some Play Dough. Wednesday's are Chat and Chew. We gather around the table and Chat about current events, and usually eat some sort of tasty snack.

Bruce was here and kept us entertained with stories of his childhood adventures.

Saturday Night.... September 13, 2008

Who doesnt like Lawrence Welk? Saturday, Lucile and Melanee couldn't resist that toe tapping beat, and started dancing. ( I know the photos are grainy, we are working on that. )
